(Summary description)Precision forgings are metal parts that can be plastically deformed into the shape of the part, engineered to a certain tolerance, and a blueprint configuration that can be obtained with little, if any, subsequent machining. They feature 0- and 1-degree draft angles, thin cross-sections, tight tolerances, tight radii, and good surface conditions. Precision forgings of aluminum and titanium usually have multiple parting lines, which can be projected horizontally or vertically, while achieving better grain flow control

Part Geometry – Can often be pulled back, protruded sideways, or recessed sideways without machining.
Tolerance Control - Dimensions are often held to much smaller tolerances than conventional forgings and are often compared to the tolerances of machined parts.
Weight reduction - parts can be designed according to actual needs without production restrictions.
Surfaces that typically require 3 to 6 degrees of draft can be assigned 0 degrees. This allows collaboration with other components without machining, and reduces weight.
Proper placement of parting lines can take advantage of better grain flow and metallurgical properties.
Particle exposure is minimized.
Good reproducibility and surface finish.
Reduce finished product cost
Lead times are usually shorter than mechanical forgings.
Generally speaking, no machining is required other than drilling connection holes.
Reduce the cost of procurement, management and quality assurance by using a single source for finished parts.

Non-ferrous metal forging process
Forging is one of the methods of non-ferrous metal pressure processing and a link in machinery manufacturing. According to the different temperature states of metal materials during forging and working, forging can be divided into hot forging, warm forging and cold forging. - Application fields and specific cases of cold forging technology 09-02
